wall buildingjpgAugust 30, 2016

Seems we are hearing a lot about wall building in this election cycle. If you wanted to do an interesting Bible study on walls, you should read your Bible. On Sunday mornings, we are going through the book of Nehemiah and the process of the rebuilding of the walls which protected the city of Jerusalem. God has given great materials to His people for building on the foundation of Jesus Christ for His glory and the benefit of others. But like Israel, if we get caught up in living our lives apart from God, the enemy can come and start tearing us down.

John 10: 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Abundant living can only come from being in a right relationship with Jesus. A person can live the abundant Christian life regardless of the circumstances they find themselves in.

I just received a letter this week from one of my friends in prison and I quote him for your encouragement:

“This whole experience has changed me dramatically. Everyone who knows me has told me. I’m free on the inside. I have put God in my heart to grab ahold of the wheel and take control. God will not steer you wrong. So far he has done amazing work in me.”

Therefore, I beseech you, friends, to examine your life in the light of Jesus Christ. The world is a dark place and you may be facing the enemy head on, or circumstances that are way over your head. Yet there is nothing too hard for God in your situation or mine. As James 1:2-8 says:

2My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

 May God Bless Your Week,
