resurrection Sunday

I am happy to report the DVD ministry is back up and running. April Fools! Sorry I wish it were true. We did order the new software and guess what happened? It got shipped out to Pennsylvania or some place out East. Now this is an amazing thing. This problem should be a simple one to fix, and yet for some reason we cannot seem to overcome. We take a step forward and there is another problem put into the path. Life is like this sometime, is it not? We live in a fallen world with imperfect people. Our technologies which make life so much easier can at times make life harder. What a tremendous opportunity to take a deep breath, count to ten and scream; no, I mean not to scream, but to trust and take it to the Lord. The company is sending out another copy of the software. Because of the upset, we may get it for free or a reduced price. This would be a nice silver lining in our cloud.

I also want to wish you a Happy Resurrection Sunday! Do you realize we would not probably have any relationship at all if it were not for the resurrected Christ. Our relationship started first with a relationship to Jesus. He is the one who has put us together. Someday we will experience a reunion in heaven with Him if we truly know Christ as our Savior. But in the meantime, there can be much joy in our lives as we live and move for Christ and minister to the needs of others. Each of us can do something for the cause of Christ.

I am writing this on April 1st.  The Scriptures say: “The fool has said in his heart there is no God.” Psalm 14:1; Psalm 53:1. What a wonderful knowledge to have a living faith in Jesus Christ. What a wonderful gift to know Him and His love! As we meditate on Friday, we see Him hanging on the cruel cross, His body so marred for you and me, He is hardly recognizable as a man. He is buried in the rich man’s tomb and placed under a Roman guard. But on Sunday morning he arose from the dead. What good news! Death, the devil and sin has been overcome. May we revel in the goodness of God.

1 Corinthians 15:55

55 “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

May You and Yours Have a Blessed Easter,

Pastor John Schofield
